Ecumenical Lay Council of Northport-East Northport

      The Ecumenical Lay Council of Northport-East Northport (ELC) is a Public Charity under IRS code 501(c)3 and an all-volunteer organization dedicated to helping our neighbors in need.  We are an association of 14 member organizations, comprising 12 area houses of worship and two community-support nonprofits.

      The ELC provides food, toiletries, and other daily essentials through its food pantry and partners with area organizations to distribute Thanksgiving care packages, Christmas presents for children (Adopt-A-Family program), Easter baskets, and school supplies. 

       Our food pantry is an agency of Long Island Cares, Inc., the Harry Chapin Food Bank. 

      The ELC also confers the annual Carole Gandy Scholarship award to

a qualified Northport High School senior planning a career of servant-leadership.

      The ELC sponsors Northport's Easter Sunrise Service in Village Park at the harbor.  All are welcome!
